Airbus revealed its new serial helicopter (Video)
The new Airbus Helicopters H160 is already certified in Europe and is awaiting certification in the United States.
The new French Airbus H160 helicopter is presented in a serial version. Introduced in 2015, the helicopter is intended to replace the AS365 and EC155 models - deliveries of new items to customers were expected in 2018, but in the end, the release of the H160 was delayed until 2020. Now the helicopter has already received a type certificate from the European Union Aviation Security Agency (EASA), and is also preparing for certification in North America under the control of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The length of the helicopter is 14 meters, height - 4 meters, maximum take-off weight - 5670 kg, maximum flight speed - 325 km / h, cruising speed - 287 km / h, maximum load capacity - 1760 kg. The new Airbus H160 can carry up to 12 people at a range of up to 850 kilometers.
On the way from the prototype to the production helicopter, the Airbus H160 lost the innovative control system “by wire”, as well as a number of other technologies, some of which were either abandoned completely or significantly simplified to increase reliability.
Airbus H160 equipment will include advanced electronic systems that increase flight safety both in difficult weather conditions and in the event of failure of one of the engines (the helicopter is equipped with two Turbomeca Arrano turbo engines).
