The unmanned Skyborg agency will be assigned to four American companies. The United States Air Force has announced who will develop it.
Four Boeing corporations, General Atomics, Kratos and Northrop Grumman will work on this project. Each of them will be awarded a contract from the US Department of Defense worth $ 400 million. It involves the development, creation of a prototype of the device and its flight tests,
submits Flightglobal.
The tender for the work on the project was announced in early May of this year. He envisioned not only the creation of budget departments, which should work in tandem on manned fighters, but also control systems based on artificial intelligence.
According to the US Air Force, the admission of unmanned agencies to service should take place in 2023.
18 companies applied for participation in the tender. The department has selected four of them.
Recently, the new
Airbus Helicopters H160, which is already certified in Europe and awaiting certification in the United States, performed its test flight. The helicopter, introduced in 2015, is intended to replace the AS365 and EC155 models — deliveries of new items to customers were expected in 2018, but as a result, the release of the H160 was postponed until 2020.
