Since 2014, Skoda has been presenting student concept cars - unique cars created in a single copy by graduates of the Czech automaker's corporate academy. Students, under the guidance of existing engineers and designers of the brand, develop a project for a graduation car, and then, using the capacities of Skoda and the experience of the brand's employees, build a real car.

The 7th instance was the Skoda Slavia spider. The model is named after the brand of bicycles that have been produced by Skoda founders Vaclav Laurin and Vaclav Klement since 1895 in Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic. The exclusive car is based on the serial budget Skoda Scala hatchback.

The car underwent a serious revision - the hatchback's roof was cut off (the new item does not have a soft or hard removable top in principle), the rear doors were welded, and instead of the second row of seats, a metal fairing was made, which also acts as a body amplifier.

From the Skoda Kodiaq RS crossover, 20-inch wheels were taken, from the Skoda Octavia RS - wheel hubs and brakes. The novelty was painted in White Crystal Blue, complemented by black elements of Black Magic, and under the bottom there is an illumination of red, blue and green colors in honor of the national flag of the Czech Republic and the corporate color of Skoda.

The interior now has Sparco bucket seats upholstered in leather, complete with 4-point seat belts. The white decorative elements were 3D-printed, and the embroidered lion panel appeared behind the seat backs, hiding the speakers of the powerful speaker system.

Technically, the Skoda Slavia repeats the base hatchback and is equipped with a 150-horsepower 1.5 TSI gasoline turbo engine in combination with a 7-speed DSG robotic gearbox. The drive remained at the front, and the suspension and other components of the model were not touched compared to the Skoda Scala.
