Wire portraits are created by Romanian sculptor Darius Hulea. His works are a symbiosis of classic and modern, but very recognizable.
As the main material for creativity, Darius uses various types of metal - stainless steel, iron, copper, brass. Using metal rods, the sculptor creates portraits of famous Romanian personalities,
informs Boredpanda.
Metal wire inspires the sculptor because of its plasticity. It can be bent as you like and at the same time get an original and predictable result. Outwardly, due to the structure of the wire, Darius's finished works resemble pencil drawings. Only they turn out to be unfinished for some reason.
The man became interested in sculpture as a child. Relatives contributed to his development as a creative person — his grandfather was a woodcarver, and his grandmother weaved traditional Romanian fabrics.
Earlier it was reported about the hobby of another master, engaged in
metal sculpture. Former design engineer and teacher of a military school, Andrei Karzubov, sculpts steampunk devices at his own summer cottage.
