Qualcomm, a wireless research and development company, has unveiled the fastest charger for smartphones. Quick Charge 5 can charge the battery by 50% in five minutes.
Among the features of the novelty, one can immediately highlight the ability to half-charge batteries with a capacity of 4500 mAh in just five minutes. At the same time, the device receives a full charge in 15 minutes, the company says on its website.
The technology is designed for smartphones equipped with some types of Snapdragon processors. Quick Charge 5, according to the developers, will work 10 times faster than its first generation predecessor and 4 times faster than the fourth generation.
The novelty is equipped with special protection technologies that prevent overheating and overvoltage. But to ensure maximum performance, it is recommended to use dual batteries. This will increase their charging speed and reduce heating.
The sale of the device is scheduled for the second half of 2020.
