Natural stone has an impressive list of "positive qualities". As a building or facing material, it has practically no equal. But not only this is included in the list of its advantages. Find out why designers recommend using it for fireplaces.

Natural stone retains heat well and does not require special maintenance. It is incredibly resistant to wear and tear - it can handle extreme temperatures with little to no mold or mildew damage.

According to the designers, natural stone has amazing properties of absorption, preservation and retention of heat. Especially good in this matter are marble and limestone. Granite is considered the best heat conductor, basalt is its keeper.

An additional advantage of natural stone is its ease of maintenance. A fireplace lined with such a material should be wiped with a slightly damp cloth. Nevertheless, marble is a porous material that easily absorbs soot and soot and will require special care products.

And last but not least, natural stone is the oldest building material. It is enough to look at some of the ancient castles, where the fireplaces have been preserved in an intact state to this day.
