The collection of colorful rugs was presented by the British designer Adam Nathaniel Furman. The main idea that has been embodied in this series of colorful textiles is lazy summer holidays and the culture of the Mediterranean.
The new collection includes 13 items. They are all made from New Zealand wool. Moreover, some of them are woven by hand, and some - with the help of tufting - a kind of weaving, into the primary basis of which a thread is inserted. The same technology is sometimes used to create
blankets.
The images of the carpets are based on the architectural and sculptural components found in Italy and Greece during archaeological excavations. These are ancient mosaics, stucco, pottery, and floor patterns.
While decorating one of the carpets, Furman was inspired by the works of a Greek master who painted funeral vessels. The drawing of another model resembles the pattern of the marble floor in Sicily.
According to the author of the collection, he has a special attitude to colors and ornaments. He manages to revive quotes from the past in a previously uncharacteristic manner and transform them into images.
