A non-standard form of restoration of old furniture was proposed by the Brazilian designer Tatiana Freitas. In her project "My New Old Chair" she showed how you can give a second life to different furnishings.

To mimic the missing details, the São Paulo woman uses translucent acrylic. She puts pre-prepared parts into a mold and complements them with acrylic. After hardening, new elements are sanded and rubbed with soft napkins.

In the method of restoration furniture Tatiana Freitas traces the influence of the Japanese art of kintsugi. Its essence lies in restoring the structure of objects using molten precious metals - gold, silver or platinum. This decor significantly raises the level of aesthetics of the product.

In the case of the Brazilian designer, acrylic emphasizes the artistic value of the furniture's wood components. According to Tatiana, her method is a kind of opposition between the past and the present, the visible and the invisible, the private and the whole.

For the first time, one of the designer's chairs was included in the prestigious Clairvoyance exhibition at the Guy Hepner Gallery in New York.
