Furniture made from beans left over from beer production is an idea from the design studio Mater. The presentation of a stool made with this technology took place at a three-day Danish recycling festival.

The essence of the method of creating new material for furniture is to mix fibrous materials with waste from breweries. In particular, grains left over from malt processing. They are first dried and then combined with plastic to create a composite.

The production of this piece of furniture was carried out in cooperation with the Carlsberg Brewery. It was from him that the remnants of processed grain were supplied.

According to the developers, not only grain from breweries can be used in the creation of such stools. Coffee beans, wood shavings are also suitable. And this expands the area of waste use.

At the moment, the specialists of the design studio are looking for new ideas related to the use of environmentally friendly materials. One of them is stools made from packaging plastic waste.
