Sand castles of an unusual shape are created by the artist from New York Calvin Seibert. They combine laconic appearance, severity of forms and amazing geometry.

Temporary installations from water and wet sand turn into real works of art. Their appearance, as it were, tacitly suggests that the hand of a cubist or abstractionist touched the work. Calvin's castles have sharply defined edges, sloping roofs, strict detailing, and multi-level transitions from tier to tier.

The sculptor himself admits that he does not plan in advance the appearance of his future creation. The idea comes to him after laying out the tools in front of a huge pile of sand. Calvin is probably inspired by ocean waves, the cry of seagulls and the distant horizon.

It’s hard to believe, but an American spends only a few hours to create his own sand castle. As a rule, the original concept is adjusted under the close attention of the vacationers. Some of them even help him - they serve tools, bring wet sand, photograph finished works.
