The sculptures of bearded men are carved from wood by the American sculptor Jaime Molina. With the help of various expressive means and special techniques, they turn out to be very human. This is especially true of their facial expressions.
For her
figurines the American uses wood waste, bent nails, pieces of cacti. From the latter, Jaime Molina creates hair, beards and the contents of the skull.
Either joy or sadness is captured on the faces of the bearded men. Some even think that they are in a state of deep contemplation. Or maybe they just got sick? Those who look at the work of this sculptor have more questions than answers.
Now Jaime Molina intends to complete her collection of wooden bearded men. She even came up with a special name for them "Cattians". The girl sees them as a small people, a little sad, a little pensive.
Jaime Molina recently hosted the first exhibition outside the United States. She has shown her work in Buenos Aires and Amsterdam. There, her bearded figures met with unpredictable success.
