The IKEA group of companies has started the production of home textiles from recycled materials. The product line went on sale on October 1st.

The new collection includes shopping bags, covers for cushions and tablecloths. The decorative component of the products is designed by Spanish designer Inma Bermudez. The materials are recycled plastic, partially caught from the Mediterranean Sea.

The hallmark of the new textile collection is a laconic pattern with an emphasis on geometry. Circles, squares, rectangles, triangles are stylized as sea fish. This idea was borrowed from environmentalists who work on water purification and the rational use of plastic waste.

The analogy can be drawn in the color scheme, since the shades of blue, green and coral are used. They are well combined and appropriate for textiles.

The Spanish designer said she was happy to participate in this project. And he is proud to want to help people understand the problem of environmental pollution and the use of plastic waste.
