Miniature sculptures made of wire, wood and silk threads are a hobby of the Hungarian needlewoman Agnes Herzeg. They are often not even larger than the palm of your hand.

Crochet technique is the cornerstone of Hungarian work. She uses wooden sticks or leaves as a base. In them, she pierces small holes with an awl, where the wire or threads will be attached. Then she begins to knit the planned pattern.

The beginning of work on a miniature is preceded by the creation of a sketch. Agnes draws it on paper. As inspiration, she uses the objects around her, situations from life, plots from books. But most of all she is interested in the historical implications of miniatures, which she draws from ancient Hungarian legends.

Agnes Herzeg photographs her work and publishes it on social media pages. Thanks to this, her miniatures are familiarized far beyond the borders of Hungary. Some fans of the needlewomen are trying to adopt the manner in which these unusual works are performed. Some do it, others do not.
