A notebook often hides its owner's innermost thoughts. A couple of St. Petersburg artists, Nikita and Anastasia, decided to follow the path of secrets, creating the series Behind Closed Doors.
A series of
stationery Petersburgers - notebooks, the covers of which are stylized as the doors of ancient European cities. Handicrafts are adorned with scuffs, notches, monograms and hammer handles.
And to give the finished products a greater connection with real prototypes, Anastasia and Nikita use natural wood and acrylic paints. To consolidate the effect, at the end they cover the finished cover with special compounds.
Artists believe that a notebook or personal diary is a kind of portal that opens the way to the thoughts and experiences of its owner. And the portal needs a secure door.
To collect samples for their future products, the authors of the notebooks had to visit more than one European city. And above all, they were interested in the old parts - small streets with shops and houses, where you could see old doors.
