Skewed and luminous - "cartoonish" furniture from a master from New Zealand (Photo)

Furniture by New Zealand craftsman Henk Verheff looks rather unusual. It feels like fantasy creatures from Disney cartoons "worked" on his dressers and wardrobes.

Chests of drawers, wardrobes and cabinets of the master are cut up and down. Among them there are models the inner part of which is cut out in the form of various geometric shapes. And for more cartoonishness, Henk Verheff uses backlighting. He installs the latter on the back wall of furniture.

But, despite all the creativity of the exterior, the New Zealander's wardrobes and dressers are quite functional. Doors open and close, shelves slide out and slide in. Moreover, they are not even hindered by the inclination to the sides or stylized cracks.

The master made his first few works for his friends. But after the photos of furniture appeared on the Internet, Henk Verheve stopped experiencing a deficit in orders. He sends his wardrobes and dressers far beyond the borders of his hometown and even the country. Thus, the master further increases the number of fans of his work.
