The robot scanner, which was once engaged in space exploration, is used by a Czech startup to analyze antique paintings, sculptures and furniture. He is currently studying the Madonna and Child by Raphael Santi.

The robotic device is capable of measuring radiation emitted from objects. Engage in photon detection and counting. In addition to this, it locks the wavelength. If we compare his "work" with standard radiographs, then he creates not black and white, but color images.

With the help of the device, Raphael's work was scanned down to the smallest detail - from the first to the last stroke. During the research, it turned out that the painting was done by the Italian painter personally.

Previously, such a scanning device was used for research on the ISS, but now it helps art experts determine the authenticity. By the way, this scanner has already been used to identify another piece of art. But this research was not conducted as publicly.
