Google has presented a prototype of "smart" glasses, which are designed to recognize speech and other sounds, converting them into subtitles. The new development works in tandem with a smartphone.

The new gadget is based not on traditional "smart" glasses, as it was supposed, but the company's projection system. Moreover, it can be built into even the most common lenses.

To reduce energy costs, the developers have divided the "smart" device into two parts. A projector with a part of the battery is mounted in the right arm, and the rest of the charger on the left.

All signals must pass through the buffer zone. In this case, it is a smartphone. It recognizes speech and other sounds, decodes them and transmits them in real time to the lenses of glasses in the form of subtitles.

The company recently finished testing its new gadget. The study involved about 50 volunteers. It was noted that the awareness of ambient sounds and the usability of people with hearing problems are quite high.

The company noted that the function of recognizing sounds using modern gadgets allows people with hearing impairments to better interact with others. Making these contacts more comfortable and secure.
