Recent studies have shown that the simultaneous use of several
media devices affects the perception of information. It slows down memorization.
Scientists have tried to link the use of multiple gadgets, broadcasting media data with the deterioration of concentration and episodic memory. But the results that have been obtained are mixed. It is impossible to answer the question of whether media “consumption” will affect memory in the long run.
The study involved 80 people aged 18 to 26 years. They were asked to observe different objects on a screen, and then evaluate their observations on several criteria. The subjects had to indicate which objects and at what stage of viewing they were interested in. They also needed to compare their sizes and report reps.
It turned out that those people who used multitasking media consumption did not answer the questions posed correctly. For example, they pointed to repeating objects as first seen or vice versa.
As part of the study, the scientists wanted to observe the possibility of simultaneous consumption of information and its effect on subsequent use.
According to scientists, children and youth are multi-tasking in using the media.
