A window capable of absorbing daylight and giving it back at night was developed by scientists from Singapore. They tested their invention in practice.

Outwardly, the development of scientists resembles an ordinary glass unit. Only inside the experts put a special gel-like liquid. She is able to absorb and block light.

Inside is a gel-like solution, a stabilizer and regular water. When heated from the sun, the mixture gradually loses its transparency. She begins to absorb heat. In this case, the mixture acts as a filter, preventing the penetration of heat into the room.

At dusk, the light accumulated during the day begins to be released. Thus, "heating" the room.

An additional advantage of these windows is noise absorption. It does this 15% better than conventional double glazed windows.

Smart window tests were carried out in Singapore and Guangzhou in sunny weather. In office buildings, energy consumption has dropped by up to 45%. As for residential buildings, the effectiveness of the development is still in question.
