Portraits of historical figures and just ordinary women are depicted on old brushes by the American-Japanese artist Rebecca Seto. Detailed drawing of faces looks pretty realistic.

The woman only uses the tops of the handles. And the lower parts are the impromptu outfits of the characters portrayed. It looks like they're wearing bristly fringed dresses.

In the gallery of images of the artist, there is a Nigerian schoolgirl who disappeared in 2014, a dancer Isadora Duncan, and an unknown lady from a 17th century Baroque portrait. Rebecca Seto even swooped on the image of the Japanese writer who praised the beauty of imperfection, Misako Shirasu. Perhaps due to the fact that the artist herself follows this path.

The American began to pursue her unusual hobby in 1999. One day she discovered literally "deposits" of already used brushes. She was sorry to throw them away, and Rebecca came up with an alternative.

First, for the sake of laughter, she transferred her portrait to the pen, then she used such an unusual canvas to depict her close friends. And later she swung at the classics.
