Garden locomotives, despite the rarity of mention, are considered a fairly old invention. They are carried away not only by amateur gardeners, as the name might seem at first glance. But rather, connoisseurs of mechanical devices.

Outwardly, this hobby resembles playing with large-scale railway models. Only in this case you can still ride them. As a rule, the weight of such a train starts from 150-180 kg. Scale - 1: 11.3 or more.

Such expensive toys were born several years earlier than the trains themselves. This paradox took place in 1802, when an inventor named Richard Trevithick began to create mockups of the locomotive before building a full-size steam locomotive.

The scaled-down copies of the railroad vehicles were fairly accurate. They repeated their "adult" prototypes in detail. Appearance, internal equipment, even the principle of operation. Some enthusiasts even use their miniature trains for their intended purpose - transporting goods or people.

According to the owners of miniature railway transport, their locomotives are real. They are also melted and steamed.
