Amazon has begun developing electric unmanned taxis. The startup, owned by the company, showed a pilot sample.

The car can carry four passengers at a speed of up to 120 km / h. And the absence of a cockpit allows him to move in any direction, without even turning around. And without recharging, he can do this up to 16 hours.

The interior of the electric taxi is rather laconic. Inside there are two sofas for four people. Near every seat there is a charging port, cup holder and climate control.

To call such a taxi, you need to install a special application on your smartphone. The number of passengers can be pre-configured. In such a taxi, you can move even yourself, without companions.

At the moment, all design tests have been completed. The electric taxi is ready to start driving into the city. They will start from San Francisco and Las Vegas. This is because the state of California legally allows the use of self-driving electric vehicles.

As for commercial exploitation, it should start no earlier than two years later.

The company explains the use of unmanned electric taxis by the need to reduce the amount of harmful emissions and to minimize personal contact between people.
