A group of scientists from the United States and the United Kingdom decided to develop a robotic system based on twisted threads. It is designed to facilitate the work of industrial workers.
The system will be equipped with a human-machine interface and a system of cables that contract and relax by means of an electric motor. The principle is similar to the work of
sewing machines.
The development is planned to be used at industrial enterprises as an aid to workers, for transportation of goods and rehabilitation of people with injuries of the musculoskeletal system.
Scientists have chosen an industrial area for the application of the new system for a reason. Indeed, today the attractiveness of manual labor is significantly reduced, and the requirements for the quantity and quality of products continue to grow.
Another category of users is elderly people who need help in their daily life. This applies to a banal meal, climbing stairs, carrying objects from place to place. The robotic system invented by scientists will help them too.
According to the developers, their system will have a significant impact on the interaction between humans and machines. It might seem like a plot from movies about the future. But scientists are confident that such interaction is simply necessary.
