A team of students from one of the American high schools presented a design and scheme for 3D printing a prosthesis. He can adapt to the needs of a particular person.

The device is a plastic arm reinforced with special components. It is fastened with straps just below the elbow. Equipped with five fingers, which are quite functional.

The palm of the prosthesis is slightly larger than the standard one. But this does not prevent her from performing all the necessary actions - grabbing, holding, pressing buttons. The fingers are very flexible.

High school students send out designs and diagrams of their development to anyone who needs it. And they do it absolutely free. They understand how expensive quality prostheses are. And people left without limbs, in most cases, cannot afford it.

Student project - Ability to print dentures remotely or with limited access. Even the developers themselves can create such a prosthesis according to individual parameters, and then send it to the customer.
Personal contact in this case will make it possible to better adapt the artificial arm to the patient.

According to the authors of the project, inexpensive printed prostheses open up new opportunities for people with missing limbs.
