Japanese design studio Nendo has come up with an innovative logo that can be used to reward athletes. The customer was the country's athletics association.

The logo can be conditionally divided into five directions, symbolizing the strategic directions in the game. Candles are discipline, chess is strategy, a lion is physical strength, books are knowledge, and a dove is a peaceful resolution of disputes. The developers managed to combine them into one trophy, which looks like torch or lamp.

This trophy is a metal rod on which the aforementioned figures have been 3D printed. The medals are planned to be made from pieces of these metal rods.

Winners receive awards based on their place. The first places are awarded with the largest trophies, the height of which is 300 mm, the second places - 210 mm.

The medals themselves will look like thin twigs suspended from ribbons. They come in gold, silver, bronze, and navy blue to match the space occupied by the athlete.

The sportsmen's association took such a step in connection with the need to save resources. After all, the extraction of precious metals, as well as the subsequent process of producing awards, is quite costly.
