Peking artist Li Hongbo is engaged in knife carving. He creates edged weapons with connotations.

The essence of the artist's works is to show humanity its destructive impact on the flora and fauna. In addition to the carvings on knives Li Hongbo draws silhouettes on the walls.

Outwardly, it turns out that edged weapons casts a shadow on the wall. But this is not the case. In the blades themselves, there are curly holes that create silhouettes. And some models have a kind of three-dimensional continuation in the form of metal parts.

In his work, the artist uses small knives. But there are also "giants" among them. These are cleavers that are usually used for slicing cabbage or meat.

Lee Hongbo manages to combine the grace of hand-drawn compositions with metal in an amazing way. In his opinion, such fundamentally opposite concepts help to understand the entire defenselessness of the animal and plant world.

The artist exhibited his works in galleries. But due to the current situation in the world, Lee Honbo was forced to switch to social networks. He is now posting photographs showing his knives.

Works with subtext are especially popular. For example, deer behind barbed wire or snares placed by bird hunters.
