Social networks and instant messengers take an important place in human life. Therefore, developments on the creation of a resource that would satisfy the needs of users are ongoing.
There is information that a project is being prepared for launch, claiming to be an alternative to popular social networks.

The History Project is a multimedia platform designed to store memorable moments of life. You can call it an analogue of your personal photo album, but in fact the History Project is not limited by the framework. You can leave any material in the chronicle, be it photographs, personal audio or video recordings. Each person will keep a touching life story, without the use of words.

The project integrates with the Associated Press news and story maker and downloads music via Billboard. Interaction with YouTube and Vevo (adding video) is also supported.

The main investors in the development are the New York Times and HBO. For the titanium of the print industry, this is a unique opportunity to break out of the usual broadcast format. And HBO is using the History Project to create a documentary series about American diplomat Richard Holbrooke.

The founder of the History Project is Nils Lichtenstein. Liechtenstein came up with the idea of developing a resource while trying to put together a biography of his deceased father. Niels wanted to keep old photographs and vinyl records of a loved one forever. But none of the resources, such as genealogy sites or Facebook, were suitable for this purpose. Firstly, it is impossible to load music in them, and secondly, the very atmosphere of the networks did not contribute to the desire to share intimate and special. “I don’t want to show Facebook poetry that helped me get through a difficult life situation,” Niels gave an example.

The History Project can be configured so that the chronicle will be visible to everyone, only to certain groups of people, or to anyone other than the author. This means that the project will become a platform where people can not only reveal a part of history to each other, but also do it in a way that was previously inaccessible.
