Tinting for everyone

On the shelves of hardware stores, the necessary paint colors for painting work are not always present. But do not despair and abandon the idea.
Tinting will come to the rescue. Thanks to her, you can independently create the perfect shade that fully meets the needs.



The essence of tinting is to mix a certain proportion of base paint with a colorant. Substances responsible for color are of two types: dry pigment in the form of a free-flowing mixture and ready-made color paste.



The easiest way is to mix the base paint and dye using a special machine. They can be found in major building supplies stores. The automated system will independently calculate the required amount of ingredients to obtain the desired shade. The base and colorant will be mixed in a special shaker. It's worth noting that store lighting is different from home lighting. In order not to be disappointed in the finished mixture, we recommend that you bring a piece of fabric or wallpaper with you to match the level of the desired tone.



You can create the desired paint color at home. If the work takes place with dry pigment, then first it is diluted with water and filtered through a sieve. Following the instructions, the required amount of dye is added to the base jar. Then everything is thoroughly mixed until the lumps disappear.



Pigment paste is more convenient to use. It is squeezed into a jar of base color and mixed gradually. Before staining, you should check the resulting color on something unnecessary to make sure that the shade is correct. To prevent the appearance of uneven stains when painting a large surface, you should mix the entire volume of paint in one container in advance. The color map will not interfere with the work. On it you can navigate the proportions of the dye and fix the intensity of the resulting color.
