FinchRing- smart ring from Finch Technologies
At the international exhibition MWC 2021, held in Shanghai, Finch Technologies demonstrated another development - a gadget called FinchRing. The peculiarity of FinchRing is that it is able to control electronic devices, including smartphones and TVs, remotely. Control occurs through gestures and feedback, which is based on sensations of a tactile nature.
The company's engineers position their device as an innovative intelligent project that provides the owner with intuitive control without real physical interaction with the mechanism.
The developers note that the main feature of the "smart" ring is the ability to control all electrical devices that are near the user, without the need to direct FinchRing to them. This is possible thanks to a sensor built into the gadget that provides a 360-degree view. The functioning of the ring is not affected by weather conditions and the level of illumination. It works equally well both indoors and outdoors.
The touch panel, which is responsible for the tactile communication function, is located on the inside of the ring. The scope of the gadget is wide enough. For example, using it in augmented reality, you can control virtual objects or "surf" the Internet via remote access.
The built-in battery provides four hours of autonomous operation of FinchRing. It is worth noting that it can charge up to 80 percent in just 20 minutes. The spatial orientation function is due to the presence of a six-axis sensor. The product is very light (15 grams) and has small dimensions (width - 13 mm, thickness - 3-5 mm).
Finch Technologies did not report on the time to market, as well as the preliminary cost of the product.
