Worldwide video hosting YouTube has a new feature. The platform's algorithms will be able to identify products in videos.

Testing of the new feature began in the middle of last year. Video hosting algorithms recognize products in videos, group them and recommend them to users. The latter characteristic is “tied” to user requests.

YouTube algorithms have already been tested in the United States in a similar way. Users are now able to group videos that feature advertisements, reviews, or unboxing products.

According to the developers, the new functionality will allow you to find a list of products, as well as related products in videos. The function will "pop up" between the featured videos. The goal of innovation is to enable users to get as much information about the products as possible.

Media representatives note that over the next few years, Google will create a system of affiliate links, which will link the commercial component to the video download. And after that - place goods on the platform.

US users have already left their first reviews about the new functionality of video hosting algorithms. 75% of the new feature for the selection of "product" videos seemed very convenient. First of all, this applies to online stores and their customers.

25% of users are dissatisfied with the innovations proposed by Google. In their opinion, this distracts from watching the requested videos.
The final statements by the company representatives are planned to be carried out after the end of the testing of the function.
