Safes in the house are used for documents, jewelry, money and other valuables. But when choosing a much needed item, you cannot do without the advice of security experts.

Key parameters for selection are material, shape, opening method. These characteristics are important because they affect more than just cost. The issue of security is acute here.

As a rule, steel is used as a material. In this case, the safe box must be fire-resistant. This parameter is taken into account, but few people think about water. It is advisable to mount safes in places remote from bathrooms or pipelines.

The shape of the safe depends on the filling. In the case of documents or money, these are rectangular or square "boxes". Precious jewelry is also placed here. For large-scale objects, the shape with the size is different.

Opening methods - mechanics or electronics. Mechanical locks can be key or coded. But both the first and the second have their drawbacks. The keys are lost, and the batteries need to be changed and the codes memorized. In the latter case, when entering numbers, certain rules must be followed.

The ideal option is a combination - key and key, key and code, key and disk.

Experts recommend installing safes in places that are invisible when entering a room. And the fewer people know about their existence, the better.

It is advisable to include the installation of a safe at the planning stage. But, as a rule, this happens during renovation or redevelopment.
