Amazing fantasy animal figurines are sculpted by Russian artist and sculptor Evgeny Khontor. His creations are complex and multifaceted, both from a technical point of view and from a semantic point of view. Each work of the author hides its own story and a piece of the fantastic world. Most often, a craftsman creates figurines of mythological creatures. For example, cute unicorns, majestic dragons or mighty griffins. For some works, Eugene uses Miyazaki's cartoon characters as prototypes. The master has a special awe for sculptures with wings. For him, wings symbolize freedom, dreams and the desire to achieve goals.

To create creatures, Eugene uses I-Clay plastic wire, beads, acrylic, stained glass paints and luminescent and semi-precious stones.
Manufacturing technology is an exclusive development of Eugene. Through trial and error, the craftsman independently mastered the skills of working with I-Clay plastic.

The artist chose such a material for creating his sculptures for a reason. Velvet plastic, as Eugene calls it, perfectly holds its shape and details, strung on a thin wire. At the same time, he is quite malleable. Thanks to this, if necessary, it is possible to bend some element of the craft without the risk of damaging it. For example, to give a snake a complex ring shape, you should wait for the right moment when the material remains mobile inside, but already completely dry outside.

Products made of velvet plastic dry quickly enough. You need to get used to this property at first. Most often, the master first creates a wire frame for the future creature. Then he wraps the blank with foil and pastes it with a thin layer of velvet plastic. This is how the base is obtained, on which the author then builds up small parts of the animal's body. Parts made of such material stick together easily. The craftsman began to engage in this type of modeling back in 2006. Today the artist has followers, and his master classes are very popular.
