Russian artist "paints" felt with beads

Embroidery on felt with beads is created by the Russian artist Ksenia Zimenko. The girl depicts landscapes on the fabric.

She uses standard stitching techniques in her work. But the use of beads and the combination of colored threads adds zest to the embroidery.

The work on creating an embroidered picture begins with the preparation of felt. Ksenia Zimenko uses only soft material, since it is very pliable to stretching by the hoop and goes well with thread and beads.

Having fixed the felt on the hoop, the artist makes a sketch with a pencil. Horizon line, objects of animate and inanimate nature.

This is followed by color matching. As a rule, the threads are harvested in advance: the skeins are combined, something is removed, and something is added. It happens that the original color idea during embroidery changes dramatically. You have to rip out the threads or change the already "spoiled" felt.

Covering the fabric with stitches is only the second step in creating the finished image. In the finale, Ksenia Zinko uses beads. Small "stones" allow you to create diverging rays of the sun, sky, northern lights.

The girl is engaged in embroidery in her free time from the main work. The artist devotes several hours a day to her hobby.

The decision to do handicrafts came about by chance. One day, the artist just decided to try something other than painting. Having accidentally seen embroidery on the Internet, the girl became interested in this activity. After several attempts, Ksenia Zimenko created her first masterpiece from threads and beads.
