Today, not only "green" technologies are being actively introduced into construction, but also materials from natural components. This trend is demonstrated by the innovative German project Woho Berlin for the construction of a multi-storey residential complex from concrete and wood.
The project was developed by Mad arkitekter. It is known that the house will have 29 floors and the height will reach 93 meters. The total area of the apartments will be 18 thousand sq. M. (together with low-rise buildings in the neighborhood).

On the ground floors of the complex there will be a large infrastructure: kindergartens, bakeries, beauty salons, gyms, restaurants, etc. But residential apartments will occupy most of the building.

The combination of the foundation and concrete core will form the structure of the building. This will make the Woho Berlin the tallest timber building in the world. At the moment, this title belongs to the Mjøstårnet tower, whose height reaches 85.4 meters.

The project is currently in planning status. Completion of construction is planned by Mad arkitekter by 2026. According to preliminary information, the budget allocated for the construction of Woho Berlin is 90 million euros.

Every day the construction of high-rise timber complexes is gaining popularity. This is due to a number of characteristics inherent in the material. For example, timber structures provide resistance to seismic activity and are energy efficient. The cost of timber is lower than that of reinforced concrete. In addition, natural wood is well ventilated and is considered the most environmentally friendly material.

There are also drawbacks to wooden buildings. But modern technologies have reached a level at which any difficulties that have arisen can be corrected in the process.
