Lion Smart experimented with BMW i3, increasing the power reserve

Lion Smart has designed a model of the BMW I3 electric car, installing its own lithium battery with a capacity of 100 kWh. this is three times the capacity that the standard version of the battery offers, given the equal size of the devices. According to the developers, the power reserve of the car when fully charged is 700 km. as for the production model, the usual BMW i3 overcomes only 300 km.

Despite the fact that the prototype works without problems, the company has decided not to sell it on the market, and not to sell it to private customers. Instead, the authors of the project plan to create a new modular platform for the battery, and have already signed a contract with one of the automakers. Note that BMW has also opened its own center, which is developing new batteries.
