The 3D printed furniture collection was developed jointly by designer Philippe Aduatz and Austrian manufacturer incremental3D.

The material for creating armchairs was concrete. The products turned out to be massive, but at the same time quite elegant. And since concrete has low tensile strength, steel elements were included in the products.

Manufacturing innovation is not only about the use of concrete as a material for volumetric printing. But also the addition of gradients - color pigments that are sprayed already at the printing stage. Previously, only objects that were already printed were covered with a layer of paint.

Painting concrete from a spray nozzle while printing reduces the workload on the printer.

The new technological approach significantly saves materials and reduces the cost of furniture production. With regard to the timing of creation, here, too, a significant minimization of costs can be traced.

As Philip Aduatza notes, he was obsessed with the concept of gradients for many years. This approach, and not only in the creation of furniture, reflects elegance and harmony. The designer compares the use of a gradient to fundamental design principles. Particularly when it comes to the perception of the environment and its digital representation.

In the project, Philippe Aduatza wanted to combine gradient design with innovative manufacturing techniques for functional items.

Information on whether it is possible to buy pieces of furniture from the new collection is not yet available. Probably more specifics on sales issues will be presented next month.

Recently it was written about hanging chair of a designer from the USA.
