A group of Brazilian designers have created a collection of furniture made from Kumaru wood. The line with the same name is positioned as a practical and convenient decor for a garden plot.
The collection includes
rocking chairs, chairs with tables, stools. Folding and static structures can be used in the home.
The designers used coumar wood as a material. But instead of going the traditional way of woodworking, they pushed away from impregnation with gloss agents.
Brazilian craftsmen have coated each piece of furniture with a composition that gives the wood a silvery hue after several years. And this is important, because the collection is designed for use in open areas: the sun, water and air "do their job".
Designers simply reoriented protective functions to decorative ones. The composition, influenced by natural factors, gives the wood a silvery patina.
However, such a chemical treatment does not affect the strength and practicality of use. Chairs, stools and tables are very comfortable due to their designs and materials - a combination of wood and textile inserts for the seats.
Kumaru wood was selected for its high fiber strength. The latter, even after 3-5 years of use, ensures the strength and durability of the furniture. Coumar wood is often used in Brazil and now also outside the country.
The new collection is posted on the website of the Sossego Design studio. Users can purchase both the entire collection and individual pieces of furniture.
