MIT Ph.Ds have figured out how to use the structure of the web to create music.

Scientists not only developed a theoretical basis, but also put their ideas into practice. This is a musical instrument that vaguely resembles a harp. But here a natural structure is used as strings.

The researchers used a laser to scan the cross-sections of the spider web. Then a volumetric model was created in a graphical editor. By assigning different frequencies to the threads, notes were generated. Later, the latter were combined into a scale and created melodies.

A musical instrument created by scientists is not just a project on paper. This is a real subject that has already been heard in several countries. True, this happened online. But this format does not diminish the importance of web music in the least.

American researchers tested how the sound changes when exposed to different mechanical forces against the backdrop of testing spider webs. Stretching, for example.

The fields of application of the development, according to the authors of the project, are different.

These can be innovations in the reproduction of musical compositions by means of new instruments and technical means. Including concert activities.

Also, American experts believe that their musical instrument will allow sensors and sensors installed in hearing prostheses to sound differently. They will become more sensitive to sounds from outside.

Test tests are ongoing. Conclusions on the appropriateness of the development will be made at their end.
