Microsoft Corporation has been listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the owner of the quietest place on the planet. This is an acoustic laboratory located in Redmond.

The room is a room equipped with a complex of anti-vibration and soundproof interconnections. The walls are dotted with absorbing structures that resemble a porous dessert or mobile cinema.

To fix the indicators, representatives of the record-setting committee took appropriate measurements. The noise level in the room was -20.6 dB. This figure is even less than the design one.

The previous record was held by the acoustic measurement chamber in Orfield. For comparison, human breathing corresponds to a level of +10 dB, and rustling of leaves - +20 dB.

The record was set in 2015. The reason for the return of the media to this fact was the holding of positions by the company until now. At the moment, the record of "silence", set by the acoustic laboratory Microsoft, has not yet been broken.

The "quiet" room of the company is used for recording all kinds of audio files, as well as experiments with sounds. These files are subsequently applied to Microsoft software.

Acoustic laboratories are common practice for many companies. They measure penetrating noise, vibration, and acoustic parameters.

In some situations, measurements are required that do not fit into the existing categories. Then acoustics experts start experimenting. They try different devices, adapt them for specific emergency situations.

Earlier, OXO wrote that Microsoft began developing its own ARM processors.
