The Austrian company Printstones, which has been creating robotic mechanisms since 2017, presented its new development. Baubot is a prototype of a multifunctional compact bot that will become an assistant in all construction stages.

The main tasks of Baubot are to automate the construction process, ensure safety at the construction site and reduce financial costs as the gadget moves to the masses.

The robot is controlled manually via the smartphone app. On tracks, using an electric drive, the bot gets to the required place at a speed of 3.2 km / h. The gadget is trained to overcome obstacles such as doorways or stairs. The Baubot can perform work without recharging for about eight hours.

A bot performs a wide range of duties. For example, he is capable of drilling, milling, screwing, laying bricks, sanding and painting. Welding and plasma cutting are also robust.

The development is equipped with cameras, thanks to which the movement is controlled. The lighting system provides the ability to work at night. The integrated display shows information about the state of the gadget and records messages from the operator.

It should be noted that the user can independently create applications using the SDK interface, adding the functions and toolkits he needs.

The Printstones team believes that their creation will be useful not only in construction, but also in other areas. For example, in aviation and shipbuilding.
Engineers will soon begin to improve artificial intelligence, creating simulations of a variety of work tasks.
