Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently announced that he plans to massively implement a system in which each of the houses will become a user of a distributed power plant. This means that with the help of the company's products, the buildings will independently carry out storage, distribution and return delivery of energy to the power grid.

To make Musk's idea possible, additional power lines, a number of stations and many substations will be created. With the help of renewable energy sources and updated storage technology, complete decarbonisation will take place.

The new power supply technology will differ from the existing one. Third parties will take over the centralized control and management of the grid operators. This task is expected to fall on the Texas Power Grid Reliability Board and the California Independent System Operator. The need to involve companies from outside is associated with a number of logistical and bureaucratic nuances. Utilities are forced to find new resources to adapt to the influx of a large number of distribution technologies. Namely, solar panels that will be installed on the roofs of buildings.

At the moment, Tesla is taking the first strategic steps, which, according to Elon, will lead to global changes in the future. The company has changed the conditions for purchasing products. Now the solar battery is available for purchase only together with the energy storage unit (Powewall). In addition, Elon said that now Powerwall interacts exclusively between the main energy panel of the building and the consumer service meter. This will allow you to perform an emergency backup at home during a power outage.
