Thanks to his original hobby, the artist Stan Heard became famous all over the world. The unusualness of his paintings lies in the fact that he writes them not with standard tools (a brush and paints), but with the help of a tractor. Whole fields serve as a canvas for him.

A native of Kansas began to engage in this type of activity back in the 70s of the last century. By plowing, sowing plants and mowing large plots of agricultural land, Stan leaves works of art not only in his homeland, but also in other countries. The best way to see his paintings is to take an airplane, hot air balloon or paraglider into the sky.

The list of Hand's works includes not only landscapes and portraits, but also still lifes. The stages of their creation deserve special attention. First of all, the craftsman draws a sketch of the alleged creation. Then he proceeds to prepare the ground. Stan digs it, then plows it, giving the material new reliefs and volumes. By the way, the artist has no right to make a mistake. Having made at least one careless movement of the tractor, all work will be hopelessly ruined.

Stan made his first landscape portrait of a Kiowa chieftain in 1981. Since then, 35 more large-scale paintings have appeared on the margins around the world.

One of Stan's most impressive projects is a huge reproduction of the painting Olive Trees (Van Gogh). It covered an area of 1.2 acres. The artist received an order for such a work from the Institute of Arts, located in Minneapolis. It took Stan several weeks of earthmoving to create the drawing, which can be seen flying near the local airport.

Looking at these masterpieces, it is hard to believe that they are all created by the hands of one person. By the way, Stan became an inspiration for Japanese farmers. They adopted the art of agriculture and are now recreating huge drawings in the rice fields of Japan.
