The Moooi brand has collaborated with designers Andres Reisinger and Julia Eske to release an exclusive armchair that resembles a flower. Airy and delicate product received the consonant name "Hortensia".

The history of creating a piece of furniture made of 30 thousand petals is very interesting. Originally, Andres Reisinger created armchair in 3-d rendering format. The model was so loved by Instagram users that it soon went viral. The designer was inspired by the unexpected success and popularity of the chair and decided to bring the idea to life.

He invited Julia Eske, a colleague in the art of design from Catalonia, to cooperate. The craftswoman came up with a fabric for sewing 30 thousand hydrangea petals, which became the main decoration of the product. This is how the first real limited edition Hortensia series was born.

To launch the mass production of furniture, the designers turned to the Moooi brand for help. The brand has long been famous for the production of shocking products. Moooi products are a cross between design and art. Julia and Andres decided that this company would be suitable for the implementation of a non-standard idea. As a result of joint work, the chair is available to everyone.

Eske's Petal material is durable and wear-resistant. Hortensia is presented in two main shades: light gray (Petal Gray) and nude pink (Petal Pink). The petals are made on a precision laser cutting machine. It should be noted that this was not the end of the company's proposals. Moooi customers have the opportunity to create their own chair design (without petals) using the online configurator. At the moment, fans of unusual furniture can explore a wide range of fabrics.
