British designer Ilse Crawford has updated a collection of 25 chairs once created by Carl Hansen & Søn. The British made an accent on the color palette.

The line is represented by wooden chairs with soft backs or seats. Some of them include both.

To update the previously released collection, the designer used environmentally friendly dyes in natural shades. The dyes were chosen on a water basis, providing a transparent surface and emphasizing the texture of the wood - green, red, blue and others.

It is noted that over the past 10 years, water-based dyes have improved significantly. They have become more durable, more practical, the amount of harmful organic substances has decreased by 90%. Adaptation to different surfaces has increased.

As a reminder, oak wood was used for the original version of the chairs. Ilse Crawford decided not to deviate from the traditional material.

The new collection of chairs was inspired by the abstract art of Per Kirkeby. Outwardly, the master's works resemble children's landscapes. In many ways, natural colors played a role here. The latter decided to use the designer for the chairs.

As Ilse Crawford states, she has always been a fan of the great Danish designers. In many ways, this is why I decided to modify the already familiar collection of chairs. The designer believes that furniture is a kind of continuation of a person, potential or existing owner.

You can buy a chair from the “repainted” furniture line on the website of the British designer.

Recently OXO wrote about a chair made from a thousand petals.
