Hair jewelry according to ancient traditions is created by a resident of Japan, who creates under the name Sakai. But the woman brings a touch of modernity to the products.
Sakai creates
hair jewelry worn by Japanese women with kimonos. The needlewoman uses wire, fabric trimmings and artificial resin in her work. In the original “recipe” for jewelry, everything looks a little different.
Each piece of jewelry for a Japanese woman takes from three days to three months. It all depends on the complexity of the flower arrangement, the presence of additional decor and the mood of the needlewoman herself. After all, there are situations when everything falls out of hand.
The floral “hairpins” are based on the ancient Japanese hair ornaments - kanzashi. They were worn by the inhabitants of the country for centuries as an addition to the national costume.
The needlewoman took from traditional techniques the methods of fastening and combining colors, as well as combining such decorations with clothes.
A nutritionist by education once saw a flower adornment on the hair of a girl. Sakai had been looking for a place to buy it for a long time. Checked hundreds of online stores, private craftsmen. But she couldn't find what she needed. The Japanese woman decided to create such a hairpin for herself.
Armed with knowledge from books, illustrations from magazines, as well as the necessary material, the needlewoman got down to work. After the first flower "hairpin" followed by the second, then the third.
Today, Sakai has created more than a hundred ornaments. Samples of work are posted on the site of the needlewoman, as well as in many stores in the country that sell hair ornaments.
