Coins, in addition to their direct purpose, are incredibly popular collectibles. But the scope of their use is not limited to this. Real works of art are created from coins: jewelry, miniature sculptures and even playful collages. This is what Canadian artist Mika Adams is doing. From coins of different denominations and sizes Mika creates figurines of animals, tiny pieces of furniture, ships, cars and architectural sights.

In his work, the craftsman uses a saw for jewelry. With the help of it, Adams is able to accurately reproduce even the smallest details. The master's collection includes a hundred items: from a variety of copper leaves made from Canadian money to exquisite flowers and birds.

Each piece is cut entirely by hand. Only a small set of tools helps the artist in his hobby. But a jeweler's saw, of course, is always a priority. Experiments with microsculpture have fascinated Mick since his studies at the art college.

Adams spent his free time in the metal blacksmithing and jewelery departments. There he received basic knowledge and skills in the painstaking creation of miniature products and realistic sculptures.

The author said that for many years he collected small things that might be needed in the activity: old toys, can lids, spoons and other metal objects. After that, Mika poured out of them what looked like small monuments. But the collected metal was not enough to implement the artist's ideas. Then the craftsman got the idea that coins would be the best fit for creating miniature masterpieces. In addition, one of the advantages of coins is that they contain images and symbols that are convenient to cut.
