Bright and stylish - sculptures in the quilling technique of an artist from Istanbul

Sculptures from paper using the quilling technique are created by an artist from Istanbul named Sena Runa. The girl's work is attractive because of the combination of colors and textures of the main material.

Images on the marine theme - crayfish, dolphins, corals and algae, aerial equipment - airplanes, balloons, symbols - hearts, letters and numbers, are placed on A4 thick cardboard. The artist uses dense colored paper stripes to fill the sculptures.

First, Sena Runa draws a sketch of the future art object. Then he selects materials - paper of certain colors. Preselects the most compatible shades. The Turkish woman gives preference to pastel shades - pink, blue, light green, lemon.

To make the paper strips pliable and thus give volume to the image, Sena Runa "cleans" them with scissors or a scalpel. The sharp edge of the tool is drawn over the paper, curling it into a curl.

After completing all the preparatory work, the artist applies glue to the rolled paper strips and places them according to a previously prepared sketch of the image. It turns out that everything is going to be like a puzzle.

After drying and covering with a protective spray, the quilling sculpture can be used to decorate the space.

Paper sculpture was originally a weekend activity with Rune Sena. However, later she even had to leave her main job in order to devote her life to a hobby.

The artist's works are sold online on the websites of many Turkish and international trading platforms.
