The metal chair was invented and realized by the Russian designer Grigory Gorkovenko. The Bubble Chair won silver at the 2021 A’Design Award.

The designer used standard elements for armchairs - seat, back, armrests and legs. But the structure is made of aluminum. The symbiosis of injection molding and handcraft.

Although the chair looks solid, it is soft to the touch. And the visual airiness adds some playfulness to the appearance. The aluminum in the composition makes the chair cool, but as a metal it can heat up when the temperature rises.

The furniture novelty by Grigory Gorkovenko is positioned as furniture for the home. However, it can also be used outside of it. Such a piece of furniture can become an accent in an office or on a veranda. But, given its metallic properties, it is undesirable to place the Bubble Chair in the sun or near heating devices.

When creating the chair, the designer was inspired by art objects by Jeff Koons. The artist is known for his passion for kitsch. This is especially true for sculptural compositions. The works of the American artist are among the most expensive works of art in the world.

In a piece of furniture from a designer from Russia, there is a similar airiness, volume and lightness. And this is despite the metal components of the chair.
