The food container was invented by designers from Singapore. The utensils are used to complement take-out meals and are disposed of in the traditional way in the compost pit.

Containers are made of wheat husks, which are crushed and flavored with "bonding" compounds. After mixing the husk with water, the finished mass is formed in metal compartments and pressed at temperatures up to 100 degrees. Once allowed to stand, the containers are ready for use.

Such utensils can be transported and stored for various products, but for a short time. This is due to the peculiarities of the structure of the material. When exposed to liquid substances, the takeout container softens.

It is noted that the container itself can be used as a complementary food product that tastes like oat bread. In terms of specificity, the authors of the project drew an analogy with human cultures, where bread is used as a tool for salad or porridge.

The container is equipped with four compartments, which, when pulled off, become auxiliary cutlery.

From the point of view of disposal, the development is placed in a compost pit and completely decomposes within a month. They were designed to reduce the use of disposable plastic cups, plates and spoons.

The containers developed by Singaporean designers are already being used in the restaurants of the city-state. However, these dishes have not yet entered mass production. Recycled wheat husk containers will be actively used from next year.

Earlier it was written about a chair from the Haworth collection.
