Jonathan Saunders presented a collection of furniture

Scottish fashion designer Jonathan Saunders has created a collection of furniture with a distinctive graphic style.

The line was presented by tables, chairs and screens. Wood was chosen as the main material for folding structures.

Wooden blanks were made in collaboration with a carpenter. Together, a hinge was developed, which formed the basis of some models. The latter was inspired by the traditional Japanese weaving technique.

As for the colors, the fashion designer noted that he always gravitated towards fabrics that were distinguished by freedom and picturesqueness. And after Saunders was able to learn more about the different methods of applying paint to fabric, the dyeing processes became flexible, adaptive.

The designer approached the colors in a very unusual way. The ink was cast into resin and applied to the fabric. The dyes received a soft texture, airiness. The approach to the choice of color subsequently surprised even the author himself.

The screen printing used on the "upholstery" is Saunders' calling card. Iridescent, light and relaxed notes have become accent in new models. And, if initially the author planned to make his furniture exclusively white, then after experimenting with fabrics, the color organically blended in by itself.

Saunders added black to the green, blue and yellow.
